Kevin Indig analyzed 3.7 million URL citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews from Q3 2025 to Q1 2026, drawing from a 20,000-prompt random sample. Only 2.37% of cited URLs appeared in all three engines for the same prompt, and 91.07% appeared in only one.
